Hello friends,
I messed up my application.. I assumed that ecfmg will also upload medical school transcripts to ERAS. So I sent them to ERAS separately last week.. they should get uploaded in four weeks. Also, my CK is pending, I will take it in october, and should have results mid-november. I am not expecting many calls because of the above. Any interviews for applicants who graduated in 2006? I was wondering if I should withdraw now and reapply next year.
Also, I wish to go to my home country for 3 weeks. What is a safe time to go this year if I do not withdraw? Any help is appreciated.

the max time they take to upload the documents is 4 weeks... they generally get uploaded faster than that... u can check when the documents have reached them and what date documents are being scanned now...
applying now or later is upto you, cant suggest anything... if u feel your credentials are good, u can give it a shot this year... but it stotally upto you..
regarding taking a break for 3 weeks, if u dont have visa issues, u can do that.. but still in the match season, taking a break now is not advised...
think well and decide...

Hi Hitesh.. I got my credentials and med school transcripts and diploma verified by ECFMG long back. And since ECFMG uploads USMLE transcript, I assumed that medical school transcipt will be uploaded too since ECFMG had verified it. I thought that ERAS would not accept unverified documents from us to upload it. That's how I messed up. It was foolish of me since it is clearly mentioned in the documents section of eras website that we have to resubmit it, and I somehow did not read it.

Oh ok milee.. Got you.. Hey, If your credentials are good, and u have a decent step 1 score, i think its worth a shot.. I have heard of people getting matched inspite of getting results very late.. A guy from my college, had failed CS, took it again in Oct, Got certified in Jan, also got his first call in Jan, eventually got 4 calls and matched to his first choice which btw was a very good program.. Well, it's doable, but only you can assess your chances the best..

If money's not a problem you have nothing to lose milee.
I'd say give it a try and see what comes out of it.

Milee, I applied like that last year and had three interviews. I only had step 1 score, step 2 cs was done. I could have matched if I did step 2 ck in time for LOR.
You will definately have less interview. If you want to go into good programs, it is better to wait. if you just want to get into residency program, apply and work hard.

Anyways, from your signature, it looks like this year you're not getting into 'just a residency'.. You're gonna get a very good one

Hi Sachida, I understand what you are saying.. that's why the dilemma.
Genbot, and Arlete, that's what m doing.. gambling this year... and it is not a good feeling to do that. Just doing it so that I don't curse myself for not trying next year when I sit at home for another year.
Hitesh, I guess what Sachida is saying is that his CK results were not in time for the ROL which may have prevented him from matching, but since he is applying now he may have better programs. Correct me if I am wrong Sachida.
