I think hypomagnesimia is the answer patient has low albumin level Calcium is corrected as follows: Corrected calcium (mg/dL) = measured total Ca (mg/dL) + 0.8 (4.4 - serum albumin [g/dL]), where 4.4 represents the average albumin level also , Decreased intestinal absorption due to small bowel diseases is the most common cause of magnesium deficiency
