I passed step 1(99) and cs. Took my ck exam in august. Becoz of the new software my score reporting is delayed. I might get my result sept end or in the october.I dont have clinical experience.I m on EAD.

Now planning to apply to atlest few programs. Somebody please advise whether to apply for categorical or preliminary programs? or both?

Do you want a three year IM program? Then apply for categorical. If you only want one year - apply for preliminary medicine.

I want 3 yr program. But for the backup shall i apply to few prelim also? Will it confuse the PD?

Generally apeaking prilim prohrams might be harder to get, correct me if I am wrong, but nothing wrong in applying for prilim as well, I would not apply for prilim and categorical in the same program.
