guys look at my credentials, i m not really so passionate about meds as most of u are. my aim is to go into management and global health (eg, WHO,IRC) but wanna do IM as a basic ( i figure this residency to be the most helpful) my Q is this, can IM residents do MBA part time? do we have the time? and any idea if programs encourage it? and any unis that offer? i have earched online and there are drs who do it, but they never mention how

why don't you go for MPH and then DrPH instead of residency. I don't know how much an IM residency would help you in future. You are already an MD and have the necessary background. This is my personal opinion as I was thinking of this plan for a while, but finally inclined toward residency and clinical work.

I've actually had people come through my residency so that they could do hospital management. He said that he didn't think he could run a hospital if he couldn't understand why things were the way they are. We knew it from day one of his residency.
