most places want to know if u have been doin any hands on work after grad............if u have then the 5yr cutoff wont apply to you...........some places are very strict and dont care about what u have been doin.............in that case i think its really worth applyin.........see im also a grad of 2003(july) and have applied to such places...............as i said a lot them are concerned bout wot you been doin in b/w and if u have had hands on clincal exp in that time, then the 5 yr cutoff doesn matter that much...............hope this helps

guru........thats my own judgement plus a lot of info from ppl who are doin residencies...........so have relied on that info........ofcourse some programs are very strict about it and some of them say it very clearly on their webistes but thats as much info about the matter as i have to share smiling face

uncle sam............some places are VERY finicky about what you did in that one yr.............but since you have graduated very recently and will be applyin 2010 i tink you have a very good shot coz esp with good scores you have a real good shot of gettin interviews.............but since competition is gettin very tough u will ne to figure out what you will say when you are asked bout the gap...........infact you might need to put that in your application form or personal statement............but either way in 2010 u will still a recent grad. accordin to most places...............g'luk
