I would agree with interview skills being the most important factor, but a major limiting aspect is getting called for an interview and here scores, lors etc come into play....

I am a bit surprised with the results so far. I would have thought that USCE would have been the most important factor, after the visa. But the majority seems to be swaying towards strong US LOR's. I am not sure how much weightage do non-clinical LOR's carry especially if you have not worked with the person for long?

Scores, US LORs, USCE etc gets interviews. Getting into a good residency? Interviews..no doubt about it. For me at least.

The first colador or filter is GRADES from USMLE you dont have them and its OVER.
So grades are the utter most important factor. A doctor that I know told me that during his trainign in NY he literally saw how they just eliminate people base on the scores alone, you dont pass that first screening and they will not see your application, unless someone give a good word for you then they "might" consider seen your entire application and it does not guarantee you nothing. That is why I just take the GOD approach.
I will try my best and leave the rest to GOD
PS I just learn the word utter and I decide it to use it.
