Hi all hope all ur prep is going well and ur dreams are realised. I am planning to take usmle step1 August 31 2009. I am a 5th yr (6 yr course) International med student. I have already been using usmle books throughout my med school course to study for them. I used BRS Physiology costanzo ( 2-3times), Microbiology made rediculously simple MMRS (2.5 times), Lippincotts Pharmacology (2 times). Between now and mid- May i will have my normal med school exams so will not be studying for step 1 soo intensly. This is what i plan to do between now and december (remember i have normal med school exams at this time!): Pathology: Rapid Review Pathology Goljan + Goljan Audio + FA 2008. Biochemistry: Kaplan LN + DVD (as much as i can) Between Feb and mid May (cant do anyting between dec 2008 and feb 09 because of big paeds exam lol). Anyway between Feb 09- mid May 09: Micro and Immuno: Kaplan LN + DVD(as much as i can) Physio: kaplan LN + DVD (as much as i can) Behav Sci; Kaplan LN Hopefully i will complete my medical school year by Mid may. So between Mid May 2009 and end August 2009 i will be enrolling in a kaplan course full time for 3.5 months doing 8-11 hrs a day 6-7 days a week. In this time i will review all kaplan LN again + NBME to asses every month + Kaplan Q bank + UW subscptn. Hopefully will sit exam end of August. Sry for the long post. Please advise me as i am really scared lol. Do u guys think this is a gd plan and could it be improved in anyway. Please dont be scared to critique i will really appreciate ur honest opinions. Anyone can reply, I would really apprecite it if ppl who already taken the step 1 could comment. So sry for the long post and thanks for reading i know u guyz are probably working really hard for step 1. Oh i 4got to mention i am aiming for 90+ as i am an international student gd luck to all of u. WE can do IT.

sry for extra post. i was wondering if i used Rapid Review Goljan 2nd edition and Goljan audio + FA 2008. Would that be enough for pathology or do u think that kaplan LN is better than the above combo?

Definitely you are doing everything the right way; still being a med student is a great thing; I mean, it will be much easier for you to memorize what you have already studied in the las few years. Are you an IMG?
