i applied to some programs from whom people already got rejections and a few got IV'S. I have'nt heard anything from them yet.is it good news or they did'nt even look at my application.?

Hard to say... Some programs are so much busy now that they prefer not to send rejection message... Only IV ones...
So, if you don't hear from them for another 2 week or so, you can think of yourself as rejected... However, it never hurts to make a call and ask for a status of your application. Anyway, it is too early for any calls...

I've received over 2000 applications and haven't contacted anyone yet. It's early. It's still the first week of ERAS.

In two weeks is when we are going to start reviewing applications.......

Many programs send out invites in late october/early novmeber.......it just depends on the program I guess.
I applied with step 1 and cs, and I was worried that I may get rejected before my step 2CK scores come out, (I should have the score by end of October) so I called some prorams this morning: They said they are waiting for my last result and that they will review my application once its available. I went further and asked if they still offer interviews in early November and they said they certainly do...

Bottomline its way early: Some programs haven't even downloaded any parts of my app yet and its been over a week

If that was a rule for all programs, I would be happy with it... I am sorry, but I don't understand reasons behind creating a backlog of 2000+ applications... Only if you want to have 2000 more?

In some programs, PC/PD screen applications for scores and send IV invites immediately, whereas big programs mostly TX,mayo and others,, have interviewing committee which screens our whole application as a package and select the potential candidates to interview for their program.

So, in order to get potential candidates they need to read our LOR, CAF, PS, MSPE!!! which takes atleast one month of time.

We are giving the LORs, USMLE scores, the transcripts all time to gather together to review applications one time and not have to review multiple times.....

I agree and infact I am sure that last year a lot of my friends were recieving IV calls in December. I also remember one getting an IV call in January.

So this is FAR TOO EARLY...to consider that no reply is a reject. On this note, I have been told that rejects pop up their ugly heads before acceptances. Anyone else also heard such a thing?

One more reason for the delay.
Also, some programs want to see the MSPE, or else there is no point in submitting it to them.

I agree that this is a great decision, especially considering the frustration that all those of us who are waiting for the LORs to be uploaded to the system are experiencing, cos of the understaffed ECFMG disapprovaldisapprovaldisapprovaldisapprovaldisapprovaldisapproval

No news just means exactly that...no news...I don't know how it could possibly be considered good news, especially when many programs don't even send out rejection letters anymore...

Anyways, just be patient, it's much too early to expect replies from many programs....
