Dear Program Director: I am writing this letter of recommendation for Dr. Arlete. She is s a tireless mentor for applicants in this years NRMP match and ERAS. She is an ego booster, peace maker, question answerer and is persistent in her search for the truth for herself and other applicants.

Dear Program Director: I am writing this letter of recommendation for Dr. Arlete. She is s a tireless mentor for doctorate students at the John Hopkins Medical institute. She was nominated for the Nobel prize in medicine and physiology last year for her work on nano pace makers. She is also persistent in her search for a cure for cancer and other disabling diseases. In spite of all her magnificent achievements in academic and medical research she has now decided to train in clinical cardiology so she can pursue a career in the specialty that she was always most passionate about but felt an obligation to find a cure for cancer ASAP.
I believe that she would be a great resident in your program. The only one that will regret not hiring her will be you. It is needless to say that she was offered many pre-matches from the top 10 medical programs all over the US, Japan, and Germany. But she prefers to work somewhere that will allow her to be close to her loving children.

To Whomsoever It May Concern,
This is a letter to NOT recommend Arlete. This is because, it would mean OUR LOSS and YOUR GAIN. We being all humans are pretty selfish and cant allow somebody else gain from our loss.
So please DONT hire her, so that she can stick around here. We are trying to lure her to continue with us and welcome any suggestion, on how we can keep this person working for us.
Its too bad she is married, otherwise I was hoping I could get my son married to her. Now our institution is in the process of filing for the EXCLUSIVE copyrights of Arlete. Any attempt on your part to hire her will be considered as an infringement and dealt with in the severest possible ways.
Call me at 1-800-800-8000, if you have any suggestion on how I can continue to hold onto her. Otherwise you are strictly off limit, since you should have realised this is personal.
