i dont think estrogen is produced in testes either. its production needs "aromatase" which is not there is testes. progesteron too is not produced in testes.

1/3rd of estradiol in males is frm sertoli cells and remainder arises frm peripheral conversion in adipose ts.
Both sertoli cells n adipose ts ve aromatase activity.
increased estradiol in bld is a sign in sertoli cell tms in affected males.

According to Greenberg's Basic and Clinical Endocrinology (Lange), estradiol is produced in the testes (<20), whereas the remaining 80% is derived from peripheral conversion.

(There's no mention of progesterone being produced from testes though).

progesteron has to be produced in testes bcaz its an intermediate in androgen synthesis. FA also says that estrogen is synthesized in testes but brs doesnt agree and till now i havent seen any such gross mistake in brs. thats why i m confused
