Can some one remind me what is the differnce btw Typical and Atypical Pneumonia?

Typical Pneumonia: Fever, Rigors and Chills, Productive Cough

Atypical Pneumonia: Dry Cough, Difficulty in breathing without fever.

TYPICAL:-
  • MCC: Strep. pneumoniae
  • Consolidation present
  • Red & grey hepatization
  • Neutrophilic infilteration

ATYPICAL:-
  • MCC: Mycoplasma pneumoniae
  • No consolidation
  • Interstitial haziness
  • No hepatization
  • Lymphoplasmacytic infilteration
