Call ECFMG, and ask them on what date you were certified.
They will tell you that.
On Step 3 app, you can enter that date. It is legitimate, and I was going to do that, but luckily I got my certificate that very day I was going to.

THanks for your response.
My problem is that ECFMG has not issued me any certificate yet. it's not like they have sent it and got lost somewhere. There is no date because my certificate doesnt exist at all.
And of course i am gonna call them as i am doing it since many days to hear the same thing again and again.

if you were eligible si nce 4 weeks, there is no way they don't have your certificate.
i got my results on aug 13, and became certified on the 20th.

No you can still apply for 2008 dejavu. Only they will stop accepting applications for a while...probably until start of october. When they restart you can take the nov-jan block. So dont panic and dont worry.
Real bad luck there on the certificate thing. But you should have it sorted by then. Best wishes.

Thanks genbot. Just heard the same from someone. At this moment I am worried over certificate thing more than anything else. They have just rejected my medical school credential verification 1 year after they received it and verified it and now they wont certify me before they send the verification again and receive it back. I HATE ECFMG (@ SEPTEMBER,2008)

your med school did something wrong with paperwork, it's not ECFMG problem

may i know why did they reject ur credentials ?
i just sent my copy of diploma with necessary documents yesterday....would u suggest me anything?

No. my med school didnt do anything wrong. I did. My school does not send international mails. THey just give them to the students to send by themselves. The courier company by which I sent the documents seems to send their packets to an address in USA and then re-mail again to the destination. So what ECFMG received from my school was air-mailed from a address in USA and they don't accept the documents from third party. I don't hate ECFMG because of this whole procedure or their rules (I think their system is very efficient in certifying people who can practice medicine in USA), my point was if they don't accept documents from third party, why did they accept them in the first place 1 year ago and verified it. If they had rejected my documents at that time, I would have done all this again months ago. Now, I am losing such a critical time. Moreover for a period of 4 weeks, they didnt tell me the reason for the delay in my certification. they went on telling me that they have a high volume of eras participants and kept me in dark.

hi lakshya hope you saw my PM.
For those awaiting their medical education credentials verification:
1) Make sure your school sends it
2) if school doesnt send, write name of the school in "from" box
3) use DHL/Fedex or any other standard service which send directly to the destination.
4) call ECFMG if you don't get certificate on time and ask the reason. they will not inform you by any means (not even on OASIS).
My OASIS still reads "your medical education credentials are received and verified"

~~~ HAPPY ENDING OF ECFMG CERTIFICATION PROBLEM ~~~
Guys, after 5 weeks of waiting and huge emotional turmoils of last weekend, I have just received an e-mail from FedEx that ECFMG have sent me a gift. So If I suppose that ECFMG don't waste money by sending verification rejection through FedEx, the only possibility that remained now is my ECFMG CERTIFICATE..
Thanks everyone for the support during the hard time. I was almost destined to get certified after 1-2 months more though I am eligible for that since last 1 month. It seems that the ECFMG superviser with whom I talked has overlooked the mistake in the verification during the re-review that I requested and with his help it's done now.
So happy I am,,, (Though I wont be able to take step 3 in October)
