Why a prestigious University program downloaded the USMLE transcript? Didn't they see that i am an IMG from all the other files. eg University of Chicago, John Hopkins....etc. Is an automatic procedure? i mean if you download a file you do that for all the others too. I don't think so. or may be a secretary is doing this work now. So the program director has not seen them yet. But why they didn't tell her/him to exclude the IMGs. I am just trying to convince myself that some Uni may be interested in my cv.

I'm sorry but as bbb said,...they download "all" of the files, for Every applicant: You could have no LORS, no PS,...and they would download the transcript....because they automatically do it for every single applicant as its protocol......

Of course I applied to these programs(some) and of course I want them to consider my application. However, If I would apply again, i would not apply to them. I think I wasted a lot of dollars for such applications. My chances are ~0. Of course, there is the saying: one of them may invite you for an interview, you never know (typical case of rationalization that i didn't waste my money without a reason). I have a friend of mine (european IMG like me)that found a residency spot in a UNI program(no IMG before) in New England without USCE, publication (only high 90s and research in US). Probably, because the PD decided to have some IMG in the program. In addition, there are some UNI are very rural (isolated) and not very popular for the AMGs. So i could try there (as I did). These may be arguments favor the opinion to apply to such programs. But to come back to our subject. Common sense: University of Chicago program: prestigious program, in a very big city. A lot of Chicago graduates or even graduates from other elite Uni programs apply to it. Why such a program who has thousands of application consider the application of an IMG with research, some presentations and one publication (like me). Why downloaded my transcript? The only reason i can think (except that the programs download everything because of the protocol, as BBB said) is that they know my research supervisor (must be the same area with the PD) and expect from me to involve in research. but even this does not sound very possible.

dude....they download every application.....you paid for the applying there right?...so they will download it. That is the reason, period. You could have had no usmle scores, and they still would have downloaded it. Now you can go ahead and think what you'd like ad what makes you feel good But the thats the reason

also i don't know why you think PDs do the downloading....its the residency coordinators who do that.... Their task is to download all the applications.....when they are downloading them they have no idea who you are...they just have to download everyone who applies..... Later,...the PDs sit down and go through them..... So, relax....you are just one application out the hundreds (actually over a thousand ) that are being downloaded....

Tilingo. You would never know if this it true but i am telling you that this about my supervisor is not true. My intitial question was why they download everything. This was answered. Probably I will match (if i will) with one of the known IMG friendly hospital. Thank you akm being supportive
