genbot wrote:Deja_vu, Sorry bout Colorado buddy. Really disappointing how some programs are inflexible with such minor things and never really consider the application in its totality. But there's better luck around the corner i'm sure. Best wishes to everyone here. P.S: Do try to maintain a neat thread with credentials. Would help a lot of people that follow us. thanks buddy for the concern. Right now I am more affected by the medical credential rejection by ECFMG more than anything because now I am not gonna get certified for atleast 1 1/2 to 2 months. I hope I get out of the situation as soon as possible.

Rahul your creds are excellent. You'll surely gonna get the calls. From last years thread it seems neuro people take a while before inviting. I dont expect anything from september. Oct and Nove is the time for us. Good you skipped U COL. by the way it seems neuro is not your main target. where else did you apply as well, if you dont mind sharing (I am not PD of any prog, nor a relative of PD. so you can share).

minnie81 wrote: That's sad to hear, I hope they consider an application in its entirety, to be fair to everyone. Hopefully all of us will have good news in the coming weeks Minnie thanks for the support. I think other way around. If I am a program and I get 100applications per position, I too will screen out half the applications by some criteria which I think are the most important to me. For some program, it's ECFMG status , for some it's USCE, for some its US LORs. I find nothing unfair in that as far as every program uses different criteria and I am eligible at most of the places though not at all the places. The only unfair thing I see with UCOL was they have so neatly written their criteria on the website and they didnt write anything about any kind of USCE, but sent rejections on base of hands-on USCE. Should I knew it beforehand, wouldn't have wasted my 25$.

Your welcome deja_vu. Information on websites can really be vague and incomplete sometimes. I emailed and called some programs but they usually send generic responses. By the way, I got an email from UW Madison saying they'll start sending invites after Oct 1, so hang on there guys. I think neuro programs will take a bit of time, so we just have to be patient.

Dejavu, Sad to hear about the credentials thing. Really a lot of bad luck there. But you'll get your share of calls buddy. Just need to wait it out some. Good luck!

Hello all! Man I have the worst credentials of them all!!! [Credentials: IMG/H1-J1/2004/98/84/Pass(no attempts)/ECFMG cert./USCE:nil/ LORs: 1 US (from undergrad neuro-research back in 2003)/travelling the world the past year!!!=noCE] I am really depressed by this whole application process mainly because Neuro is my passion and the odds are against an applicant like me. Also because the money spent applying appears to have been wasted on many neuro programs, like UCol because of their selection criteria. Noone has replied to me yet, but will keep you guys posted. Any advice on whether I should look into IM programs?
