can any body help me with sexual assault case ...how to ask and what to ask n how to show empathy !

first show empathy and then, ask specifications of assault...was it vaginal,anal, oral, or some kind of weird fetish.......then ask where it happened, ......did the patient lose consciousness....any other kind of physical battery....any hx. of pain.....did the offender use condoms.....did she know the offender........has she been tested for hiv or any other STDs .....immunization status......medications.....use of ocps......how long ago did assault occur.......when was her LMP.........and r her periods regular......then take the rest of the hx. as usual.......examin her generally.....and mention u wud like to do genital exam aswell......in management mention genital exam, sample collection for dna testing from vagina/anus....and under the nail beds.....if she has pain, then imaging.....and HIV testing......CBC for infxn................counsel her that it was not her fault.....mention about PTSD, HIV testing, abortion if she is pregnant and how u r here to help her..............
