i don't study most of the times during Ramadan, empty stomach don't really help, try to make yourself usefull to your family with house duties, and after EFTAR you can study plenty, of course i advise you to take a good sleep 2-3 hours before EFTAR because you will have to stay up late for the study.. that's how i do it.

i read somebody's exam experience once who got 99, took step 1 in ramadan(dont remember the name now) and a/c to him the best part is u get extra time which u would otherwise spend eating something. So try to look at the positive side nany, though it sounds difficult but doable. GL with yr exam and ramadam mubarak.

drsmiley wrote: i have a difficult time studying when I dnt have food, n' esp during Ramadan...how do any of u muslims study while fasting?? this is good que. dr? every one feels this however we`ve found that studying during fasting is very enthusiastic and we concentrate more when we are fasting rather than after meal. tip; try to study during fasting for 6hrs -without thinking in food- and try to study after meal , u will feel u are unable to concentrate after having meal. as ur blood will be flushed towards ur stomach & u will not be able to study. we `ve an old saying" when ur stomach is full,ur mind is empty" Also ALLAH gives us extra marks when we work during fasting. I hope that I`ve convinced u.

@DR_dolceca I second your opinion. I feel the same way. Ramadan's productivity is before Iftar and not after.

what happend if you skip ramadan? Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. To reject one of those five pillars (not fast even if you are physically able) is a grave sin which we will be punished for. Versely, if we fast with good intention and seek forgiveness for our sins then they are wiped away.

Ramadan mubarak all!! I'm having the hardest time studying in this holy month. I've gotten waay behind. All I do is study as soon as I get up (that when I have the most energy) n' as the day goes by I can actually feel my reading wpm sloooooow dwn....I usually can read 100 pgs a day n' now I can't even reach 50!! Even after iftar I get lazy esp. praying taraweeh at the masjid. I sometimes get that evil thought that maybe I shouldn't pray at the masjid n' just pray at home, but then I keep thinking that this maybe one of the last Ramadan's I can actually complete taraweeh prayers almost every night...later residency, children, job will prevent me....so this might be my last opportunity to have this holy month to myself....
