Hi guys I had the step 2 ck exam yesterday and iam gonna tell u all about my experience ........
1- preparation time 4 months approximately 8 hours daily studying.
2- my sources were kaplan materials 2005-2006 finished them two times but the 2nd time was so fast .
3- I have done USMLE WORLD one time with average 61% cumulative performance then I did the wrong answers over and over again .
4- Step 2 ck crush 2 times ..... this book was really helpful especially the tables in it .
5- Now iam gonna tell u guys about my exam day :
I had the exam in charleston west virginia yesterday at prometric exam center ....the people there were so nice I liked them .......I woke up early 5:50 in the morning had a shower prayed al FAGR prayer then went to the center and begun my exam at 7:30 early in the morning ....
1st block was a shock for me the questions were vague and too long and asking about the mechanisms of diseases very strange guys .....I finished it on time .
2nd block was easier than the 1st one I marked 6 questions but I could not go back to revise them but I think that I did few stupid answers .
3rd block was nice and easy I was running through the questions and many questions were like the USMLE WORLD.
4th block the same like the 3rd.
5th block was alittle vague but it was easy and the 6th block was ok .
7th block was tough and vague with stupid pictures and I think it was the same like the 1st block .
8th block I could not determine its difficulty coz i was tired and exhausted.
eventualy at the end I expected myself to do better than this and iam worry about my result coz the exam was so much difficult for me same like U WORLD but the questions were so much longer ......Iam praying so I can have a good result ......Iam still not sure about my answers yet even in the easy blocks ......Iam just relaxing now coz I have to prepare for step 1 in the coming few days .........any questions guys I will be happy to answer and help .

What about the format? Was it old or new software?

Great!
While you are in that crazy USMLE mood continue with step 1 preparation.Do not relax to much! At least relaxation doesn't work with me, I get over-relaxed...and I start liking that over-relaxed feeling and became USMLE resistant....so better hit the books again...Marathon not yet over!!!

The exam format was the new format ,,,,,and I finished the USMLE WORLD within 25 days every day 2 blocks with reading the all explanations then within the last 12 days before my exams I did only the worng answers over and over again but I could not finish them all coz they were so difficult and i was keeping forgetting them.

Thank u pipi Iam gonna start step 1 within couple of days dont worry iam still in the USMLE marathon and I don't care about my result I did my best and this is the best that I can do .

Insha Allah u l do really well brother i am preparingf for ck i am taking it in october i plan to do 3 reads of kaplan and crush step 2 n usmle world twice..any advices cause i wana get into high 90's as a cushion for my bad step 1 score

Dear Ali may allah help u in ur preparation and I think that u r doing better than me right now..... just do the crush as much as u can and concentrate on ur weak areas ......Iam sure with this preparation u will get 99 at least .....just keep forward and trust allah .

How is the new format?
Is there many multimedia questions like heart sounds?

Well there are 2 media questions one of them was aortic incompetence and the other one was a normal heart sound .......my friends who took the exams told me that the new format questions are harder and longer .......wish u all the good luck.

Ramadan kareem hakeem and thank u for ur nice words .......about my preparation I recommend to do the step 2 secrets coz I found it better than the step 2 crush the boards but unfortunately I was too late with my dicovery hahahaha so I did the crush 2 times together with reviewing the kaplan notes 2 times and I did the usmle world within 25 days everyday 2 blocks together with reviewing the kaplan notes then I started to review the wrong and marked questions again and again ......I know that its a hard working thing to study 9 to 10 hours daily but inshallah u will have the reward for this thing .......do not follow my plan right now lets wait to see my score then we can find out if my plan is working or not ......anyway the exam was vague and the question stem is tooooo long comparing to usmle world , this new program of questions is harder than the old one ......I have finished the whole step2 ck preparation within 4 months so do not take a long time for preparation just compress ur studying and give ur best shot ........anyway allah ma3ak and take care.
