Thyroid mechanism of action has been determine to occur through the binding of a T3 receptors to the DNA. If the action was to occur through an indirect method, what would be the most likely intermediate step?

Very confusing... I don't quite get the idea... Cuz choice C cntradicts the question...while being a correct statement.
