There are 2 major sites of action of the hormone vasopressin. One of those sitesis the collecting tubule of the kidney. What is the other site? A-Distal Cunvolute Tube B-Proximal Convolute tube C-Thick ascending limb of henle's loop D- Juxtlaglomerular complex E-Glomerulus

Vasopressin has a vascular effect as well...I would say (E) glomerulus.

Do you all have FA 2004? Read page 360.

I think it is ThAT (C) .. increases reabsorbtion of Urea. to create more drag at the site where it increases H20 absorbtion..namely CD.

My reasoning for A was because in BRS, it says that increases water absorption by the renal distal tubule and collecting ducts by activating V2 receptors. I guess the distal tubule must not be a MAJOR site.

Mani that's the answer that is given by the test, and you also could check in First aid 2004 in page 360 Vasopressin (ADH) action on the kidneys Increase Na/K/2Cl transporter in thick ascending limb. Mani letter C I double check Explanation: The kidneys are responsible for filtration of the plasma for excretion of water and solutes. The nephron is composed of a glomerulous and its individual renal tube. The renal tube is composed of several sections.

Mani ..read my answer...It should put your doubts to rest. :-) Think of Urea when you think of ADH, not just water and aquaporins. :-)
