I was wondering about the IM Primary care categorical program.With such a program will there be chances of doing a fellowship ? I'm confused.

Yeah, this is something that I was also wondering about? I would think that you would have chances, but there would be a lot of explaining to do at the time of your fellowship application. Also, the attendings may not be pulling any strings for your fellowship application The thing that will be something to work on are which rotations you get? are they the same or diff from IM categorical?

A primary care program is just that - a primary care program. Rotations will be different, more geared to general medicine than a subspecialty based program. Chances of getting a fellowship would be decreased.
