I failed my cs examination.

Im going to give it again this year.

In the examinations section of CAF

should i indicate cs failed or cs to be given .

will it affect my getting interview calls if i say indicate cs failed on the CAF.?

will the residency programs already know about my cs result regardless of me indicating cs fail or to be given?

please reply asap.

You have to write down all the attempts, including the failed one. And yes, even if you don't, they'll know. There's no such a thing as "to be given" in the CAF.

In my opinion no........You Usmle transcript will show it .

Some one suggested that you can chose ' will take' there and not mention about the failed attempt though anyways the programs will come to know through the transcipt.

Well, read what it says there under "Page 7 - examinations":

Applicant should include ALL attempts taken of the USMLE/COMLEX exams.

And then, when you write the information, you may choose "passed" or "failed". That's why I think they want it all.

U have to mention all examinations u have already taken,be it pass or fail. After u submit CAF and take the exam it depends on u if u want to auto transmit ur updated usmle transcript or not.I would auto transmit.

ok. thanks.

thanks to all of you 4 ur feedback!

how will the programs directors know about the failed attempt unless i transmit the transcript?

I can always transmit the transcript later when i give it later this year.

will it affect my chances of gettin an interview if i indicate cs fail?

if you don't submit your transcript they will not have ANY of your Usmle scores! ....there's no point in applying if you have no scores to show.....and the only way to show them is by releasing your transcript

OK, you´ll PASS on your 2nd attempt. But even then you´ll have the FAILED attempt on your USMLE transcript.
Most, if not all, programs require the USMLE transcript. They will not consider you for an interview if you don´t attach it to your application.
The USMLE transcript shows your history of all exams, attempts and scores.
Unfortunately, a failed attempt will always be on your recordssad

thats cleared a lot of confusion.
thanks a lot for patiently answering my queries!

but i still have a little doubt!!
so.....when we release a transcript manually, we release step 1 /ck and cs simultaneously ?

or can we release them independently of each other?

can i choose to transmit only step 1 and ck transcripts NOW as ive got good scores on them ,...a double 99.

and transmit the cs transcript when i pass it later?

There are two options of what could be said about an exam: 1) will take; 2) awaiting for results

None of these two apply to you because you have already taken it and because you already have the result. No matter if the exam is scheduled again, or the results are pending.

So, you have to say that you failed step 2 CS. If you say 1) or 2), you will misrepresent your status which is felony.

There is no point in NOT releasing USMLE transcript, as it is a required part of the application. You may choose to say NO for automatic retransmission of the results, because you/nobody know if another attempt will be successful. If you pass it, you will want to contact each program and update them on your score.

You cannot release individual scores.....you can only release the Transcript. which will show your entire examination history up to the current date: it will show all exams, scores, and attempts.
