I want to thanks everybody in this forum for helping me understand some tricky questions and those sincere comments.
My prep:
Studied 6 months almost 10 hours a day, first kaplan videos (not all of them just IM and OBGYN, the rest are not good as the first 2). Then kaplan books (very unorganized material, except IM) so i complemented with step up to medicine, FA (bad!), and USMLE secrets and other books (it works or me). Qbank was very difficult and i did just 70% of it, maybe was too soon to start doing questions.
Then next i did UW two times with time mode!!! do it at least twice. Made my own notes and kept reading the books.
Few weeks before the test i did NBME and was very helpful to boost my confidence.
Few days prior the test i kept studying (for me it works)
The night before i prayed with my wife and i felt God was gonna be there with me in the test center.
The test day:
Couldn't sleep more than 5 hours...my brain kept idling while my eyes were closed, so in the morning a good shot of coffee....then arrived 30 min before and parked in the parking complex next to the prometric (glendale, hey no street parking buddies so better pay or made someone drop u).
In the test center the lady put me into the computer room as soon as i arrived so i started the test at 7:40.
Ohhhhhhhh the computer room was cold!
so bring something (no jackets, just sweaters)
I didn't eat because i have irritable bowel syndrome.. and i saved time
The test:
Well the test was what tha hell?!!!
the first 3 blocks were easy i mean EASY! i couldn't believe my eyes. Then the following tests were like UW. Well my test had some few questions with a big stem but the majority were short stems.
Manage your time wisely and don't get stuck in a question. Try to understand really what the question is asking!!! The subjects tested were the
majority IM, and know your psychos they ask them a lot (my personal opinion). Two Clips and were heart murmurs...i was what the hell is this?
but i just choose any letter.
Please don't panic u will never know how u did until u get the score so for people waiting just relax, enjoy life...
Is a very doable test and u will need confidence too.
And for the believers pray not only in moments like this..pray through out your lives.
