Hey!
Quick question. I was trying to extend my eligibility period for Step 2-CK and IWA mentions something about a Form 183-E that needs to be filled out and submitted to ECFMG. I am a graduate, not a student anymore. Do I still need a signature from the dean or another official of my med school on that form or it just needs to be signed by me? The form cannot be accessed unless you already submit electronically your request for extension.

I'm not sure but I think it is OK for the form to be just notarized and not necessarily to be signed by med school officials.
Read the instructions.

it's getting even more confusing. According to the booklet on the ECFMG website and IWA, I need to submit either Form 176 or 183-e. Form 183-e cannot be accessed before applying online (as I mentioned in my previous posting); form 176 seemingly requires a signature from a med school official ONLY if you are a student.
Q: What form to submit: 176 or 183-e?

I am not up to date but I can tell you that last year when I was a graduate too I applied online for Step 2 and CSA and then I just notarized the 183 form and sent it.
I live in california so I could not get the medical officials signatures that easy.

Thank you, prep4usmle, for your reply. My understanding is I need to submit the Form 183 (not 176) and that I will only need to sign it myself. Form 183 that is at the end of the online request for extension of eligibility period. Correct? Thanks again!

Uite ce trebuie sa faci. Daca ai absolvit, nu iti mai trebuie semnatura decanului cu o conditie - sa le fi trimis pana acum diploma de absolvire tradusa in engleza. Ei vor contacta decanatul Univ tale si vor cere o confirmare a autenticitatii informatiilor din diploma pe care ai trimis-o. asa vor sti ca esti graduated.
Cat despre extension - du-te pe ecfmg.org si descarca formularul pentru extensie si formularul de plata. Apoi du-te la banca si fa un wire transfer in contul lor. In maxim 2 saptamani ei iti vor trimite un alt doc de participare dar de culoare galbena si nu portocalie. apoi contacteaza centru din olaneda si spune-le noua ta perioada.
te costa 50usd schimbarea perioadei dar numai pentru perioada imediat urmatoare si poti sa o facu numai o data.

PS: eu am dat step 2 & Toefl si acum dau Step 1 & Step2 CS. Speram sa ne intalnim in state.

Centrul din Olanda??
What for? do we need to do that when we first apply also? or only when u extend your period?
(I'm romanian also, but I think one of this forum rules is ENGLISH even on the romanian forum...prep4usmle will jump in soon and tell you this  , I'm sure.
