hi all
i posted this question before but seems nobody saw that

i'm iranian med student in my 3rth year (starting staigery)
i wanna know should i pass first step USMLE now that i'm in my third year and have time to study or leave it till i got my MD
which do you recommend
and my other question:
what else can i do now to improve my chance of getting admission? should i get invovled in research programs or it won't make any diffrence?
if yes is there any site or ... that helps me to start such thing?

if u r in 3rd year and didnt finish clinical years yet ,so it s advisable to postpone step one after clinical years as step one Qs r more clinically wise.

so what u have to do now???

in my opinion try to get the materials of step one and get familiar with it , i mean dont study it hard but just be in the picture,2nd try to do electives, as u can do it as u r still student ""this step is big time for ur future residency in USA and it s pretty easy as u r student so never lose it""...
