Dear friends, I was supposed to start residency this year (IM), but due to visa issues I'm starting next year. I already signed the contract for 2009 and my prospective program will send me the final copy of the contract already signed by them. We will begin with the visa paperwork on December because I was told we won't be able to start this process sooner than 6 months prior to the training start. My question is if I need to reapply (submit documents to ERAS, apply to programs-or at least to this program) or simply I don't need it anymore. Does anyone have an answer for this question? Thanks in advance

I think you don't have to.. they should have your data already from last year.. its like.. they hired you out of match.. or like being prematched.. just my two cents

You can ask the program how to go about.. they should know what to do... you certainly dont have to go thro the whole match process i guess. but confirm with them if there is something u need to do

Ask your program what they want you to do. It doesn't make sense that you would re apply for a position that you already have.
