Hello! I am have done some 750 q's of UW and currently have 61% right answers, which kind of scares me. When I look at the wrong answers, I surely have answered some wrongly where I know I didn't master the topic or just misread or lost concentration. However, there are many, many of my wrong answers for which I think "COME ON!!! HOW CAN YOU ASK THAT!?!" and they have been answered many times by less than 50%, often even 25-30% of the students... I just feel many questions just give you a couple of details, among thousand of unimportant ones, and expect you to identify the disease from that. Other questions are straightforward, but have some sooooo similar answers, that you get clarified in the explanation by just one little small detail, that many times I didn't even know!! My general feeling is that for Step 1 they told me not to focus on Zebras, and it worked, I got a 229... and now the UW for CK doesn't only expcet me to identify the zebras, but to being able to recognize them from each other by the number of their stripes!!!! So, final question for those that already took the test is: "Do you think the real exam is as "smoked" as the UW??? Thank you all!!!

My friends who took the test earlier told me that UW prepare you for the worse, if you master these hard questions, the exam will be a piece of cake for you...I think it is good!!

Two major differences between UW and the real test: 1-UW goes more deeply than the real test. 2-the real test has less clues&keys than UW with more similar answers. UW helps to apply the concept in the form of questions..It`s a must for CK to practise questions as much as u can

UW is more difficult than the real test, but it's a must in my opinion. If you are already in the "pass zone" (which, by the way, with 61% I assure you are!), it will help you to improve your score, even reach or surpass your step 1 one. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming... Don't get annoyed, grab UW as an oportunity...

I took step-2 ck just on 08/12. In my opinion, just try to do UW more and more. That is the best way to improve your score!

This is what I am talking about!!! SPOILER WARINING! 12 week pregnant, with glycosuria, what do you do?? No, not reassurance, and no, not screening glucose tests... and no, also not treatment!! FASTING URINE??!? What the hell is that?? I might be the worst Dr. in the world, or I fell asleep 200 years ago and have not been reading medical literature and just woke up... or?!?! WHAT?! Who the hell has ever heard about a FASTING URINE?! Don't all you pregnant girls produce undustrial quantities of sweet pee?? (Sweet because of the glucose in it, of course!) According to UW, this is a sign of early GDM, which, I remember as being defined as GM AFTER week 20... so... I am confused, that's what I am talking about... and I think the other 90% of people who got the question wrong are also confused, and I also believe the ones that answered it "correctly", did it by chance, or mistake... so, maybe I am not the worst Dr. after all... and UW just made the first (or second) publication about the fasting urine in their bank of questions... who knows, who knows...

No, you're not the worst doc, don't worry... I am 100% sure I had this question while studying somewhere else and the right answer was "do nothing". I don't know the right answer in this case. But not all questions in uw are like this.

you ned to do the UW and do it FULLY and do all the wrong ones again. i got a 251 on my CK and i felt that i shouldhave paid more attention to UW. a couple of q's came straight out of their q-bank... also for the one on GDM - the answer is fasting glucose in urine which is diagnostic. she has plain old DM not GDM. - but nobody does it coz its really difficult to make a pregnant woman fast. they wake up at 3 am and munch on banannas or cookies or whatever. they screwed up if they said anything about GDM.

seven_fingers: Have you ever ordered a fasting glucose in urine, pregnancy or not? I had never even heard of it!

Forgetting about some picky questions in UW , I rate it as "a must" for step 2 CK . try to do it twice woth understanding the reason behind each answer .It works like a charm in real exam.
