Hey all. I'm an IMG from Pakistan. I'm a american national with mid 90 scores. Here's the story. I went to the the mosque this friday where i met a doctor whom i had a small chat with. He asked what i was upto and i told him i was looking for observerships or research and that i was applying to the match this year.Turns out he had a reaserch slot open at a local hospital here at Alabama. Today was my first day. He said i'll be "clinical research coordinator" and i'll get an office. The job description entails following protocols of multiple trials nd including/excluding patients and follow up, also organization. All this is new to me and its really over my head HERE's my QUESTION... Is there a strong benefit of sticking around now that i got it? what is the weightage of clinical trial? how wud i get publications? i'm love if someone wud be nice enough to reply.

I work that It's good position, good experience, good clinical exposure....Best we can get with no license yet... Use it wisely! Ask him for publication! They always have some offers to write articles or whatever, offer your help, work hard, show that you can do it best possible and even better than that... Its great if its in same specialty that you are interested in... Contact me on PM if you have any further questions... Do not underestimate the work, I take care of more than 10 protocols at the same time, you need to be meticulous about details!!! There is a good book, if you are interested for coordinators, there is certification exam, lots of possibilities... GOOD LUCK!
