Hi everyone, I'm an IMG from a country that english is not an official language.
I just took CS in LA last month, July.
Now I'm desperately waiting for my result in October.
My experience
At that time I lived with my cousin in LA 20 miles away from test center.
I have already taken step 1 and CK with an impressive score 99/99.
I do need so badly to match in 2009.
The night before the exam I cannot manage to sleep at all.
I kept practicing with myself until my voice went hoarse
At the test center the proctors were really nice.
I tried to say hi to many test takers at the centre and they were freindly.
My first encounter, I wasted my time on history a lot and could not finish this case.
The other encouters seemed to be alright.
My language, I tried to speak loudly and clearly as possible.
The biggest mistake was that I wanted to ask a lady why she cannot quit smoking.
I asked her about her obsticle but I said ob-stAA-cle.
She repiled immediately that she didn't understand what I was speaking.
My mind went blank and I skipped to another question.
The other encounters seemed to understand what I was speaking and did not ask for any repeat so much.
I did well on greeting, draping, empathy, hand washing and closure but I failed to make a good counseling in cases that had no smoking, drinking or unsafe sex.
My patient notes were also disorganised though I asked many questions.
I used a bullet hand-writing type and I don't know whether it was ok or not.
One thing I know for sure is that I have tried my level best.
So if you have any idea about my experience please do not hesitate to tell me
just because you can help me out of this purgatory in my life.
RSVP
Thanks

according to me yours was great, these small things here and there are just inevitable, jus like your scores, if you wanted skill part flawless, its something more to ask for, still we all are die hard optimists, we do expect alot of ourselves,Truely your experience has got no red flags to suggest anything disastrous, but worry part till exam results are out is something you have to control yourself, coz that is vey natural and universal.
