7 points: Source: UW 1. Regarding smooth muscle cells: Least specialized. NO troponin (calmoduline instead). Actin-myosin attached to intermediate filam. at dense bodies in the sarcolema. Dense bodies contain alfa-actin that resemble Z lines of skeletal muscle. Sarcoplasmic retic. not well developed. NO T-tubules present (Instead caveolae). Capable of collagen, elastin and proteoglycan synthesis. 2.Mechanochemical enzimes "motors". Hydrolyze ATP and undergo conformational changes that are converted into movemen: dynein, kinesin, myosin, minimyosin, dynamin. 3.Some Endothelial cells products: plasminogen activator, prostacyclin, basal lamina (including collagens type IV, V and VIII), fibronectin, laminin, A and B blood group antigens, ACE, Nitric oxide, endothelin, plasminogen inhibitor, WV factor. 4. During a viral infection, both cellular and humoral responses are stimulated. 5. The response of Rod cells to light causes hyperpolarization. Olfactory stimuli to olfactory epithelium result in depolarization. 6. Sweat glands: 2 types: Merocrine>exocytosis with conservation of membrane (anal, areolar, axillary regions). Apocrine> the apical part of the cell released with the secretion. 7. The "cell cortex" is an area of the cell underneath the plasma memb. and is rich in actin which is required for cytokinesis (cell locomotion, phagocytosis, mechanical strenght). .......................... Please correct me if I'm wrong. We are here to learn from each other

Where-s everybody???...I hope you are studying!!!....Target...c'mon!!!.....Study? I only see Tia and Puma here!! ..... ......................................... Determine which area of your life you want to work on and begin today! Be “Positive” when deciding what you want to achieve. Don’t tell yourself you can’t do it. When you talk to yourself use positive affirmations and write them down. Keep them short and very specific. Believe in yourself and your goals. Be persistent and close out your inner voice from negative remarks. Set aside a specific time each day to meditate, and visualize your goals and achievements. This will help you to set a pattern of daily affirmations to reach your goals. .......... Ok.. ....Today I-ll read 50 anatomy pages, will do 50 qs UW, FA 5 pages, and 1 hr Goljan. I'llReport at the end. Good luck all of you guys

I want to remark these.. 7 points (from UW and Kaplan) 1. Paramesonephric derivatives: - Adult female: uterine tubes, uterus, cervix and upper part of vagina
- Adult male: appendix of testes
2. Mesonephric derivatives - Adult female: Duct of Gartner
- Adult male: Epididymis, ductuus deferens, seminal vesicle, ejaculatory duct
3. There are 3 layers within the Glomerular basement membrane: (1) An electron-dense lamina densa in the center srrounded by (2) the lamina rara externa on the glomerular side and by (3) the lamina rara interna on the capillary endothelial side. 4. Phrenic nerve: from C3-C5, mediates sensation from the diaphragmatic pleura and peritoneum, as well as from the pericardium. Motor inervation to diaphragm. Pain referred: clavicula, lateral neck, shoulder. 5. Contraction of the smooth muscle of the urethra (ejaculation) is a parasympathetic function. Emission of seminal fluid and prostatic secretions is due to contraction of smooth muscle under sympathetic control 6. Saphenous nerve accompanies the great saphenous vein along the medial aspect of the leg and foot as fas as the great toe. 7. Seminal vesicle produces: fructose, ascorbic acid, PGs, and proteins responsible for semen coagulation. Prostate secretes acid phosphatase, spermine, fibrolysin, amylase, and zinc. (Fibrolysin is responsible for the liquefaction of semen after ejaculation.

Developing a habit of setting and achieving goals is the type of mental shift that can change your entire life! You can rise to any goal you set for yourself. This sounds good, but it comes with Responsibility If all you demand for yourself is mediocrity, that’s all you will have. If you allow yourself to repeatedly fail and fall short and let your goals be swept away under the guise of a martyr’s sacrifice you will get what you deserve, disappointment and regret. At the very core of effective and empowering goal setting is the belief that you deserve to succeed. You deserve success! ............. Todays target: 1 hr goljan, 50 qs UW, 50 pages Kaplan anatomy, 5 pages FA Report: at the end
