Don't be afraid....DREAM....WORK AND ACHIEVE!!!
7 things I must remember:
(from UW and Kaplan Notes)

1. Spectrin is the peripheral protein that is defective in RBC, resulting in anemia due to
excesive destruction of mis-shaped RBCs by the spleen.

2. Fascia adherens is a form of a desmosome that provides a site of attachment site for actin intermediate filaments .

3. Mesangial cells produce erythropoietin wich induces RBC formation

4. In men There are 60 000 spermatozoa per cubic millimeter of seminal fluid. In women 400 000 follicles are presentat birth, but only 450 reach maturity in adults.

5. All primary oocytes are formed by 5 month of fetal life and remain arrested in profase of Meiosis I (diplotene) until puberty, when primary oocyte completes meiosis I to form 2o oocyte, it becomes arrested in metaphase of Meiosis II and is ovulated.

6. Top 5 Causes of dementia in USA: 1) Alzheimer 50-60% 2) Multiple small cerebral infarctions 10% 3) Pick's disease (5%), 4)Disease of the basal ganglia (Hungtington, Parkinson, Wilson) 5) Associated w infections (AIDS, Syphilis)

7. Alzheimer Dementia stages: 1)speech and memory affected + depresive mood 2) cognitive and memory deterioration + sensory aphasia 3) sphincter control lost + flexed and rigid limbs , echolalia and.............. death (UTI, pneumonia).

Good night! cool

Remember:
(from Kaplan, UW and FA)

1. Clinical signs in Hydatidiform mole:Preeclampsia during 1st trimester, high hCG levels (100 000mIU/mL) and enlarged uterus with bleeding.(5%-->Neoplasia)(choriocarcinoma).

2. Chorion layers: extraembryonic somatic mesoderm, cytotrophoblast, syncytiotrophoblast.

3. Endogenous opioids: Dynorphin: natural brain endorphin, the MOST potent (more than morphine), Pituitary is the richest site of endorphins. .........Enkephalins are widely distributed in the spinal cord to inhibit pain transmission, also found in GI tract, and released along with NE and E in the sympathetic response to stress.

4. Do not confuse Acrosomal reaction with zonal reaction: in Acrosomal rX the enzyme contents of the acrosome are released to allow penetration of the corona radiata cells and the zona pelucida. The zonal reaction prevents polyspermy after fertilization.

5. The truncus arteriosus derives from neural crest as well as endocardiac cushions.

6. Azygos vein drains into the superior vena cava

7. Pia and arachnoid mater (from neural crest), Dura mater (from mesoderm)

.......Bright tomorrow nod ....

Motivation for today:

You can't be beaten at anything, until you quit in your own mind.
There is no failure except in your not trying.
There is no defeat except from within.

You have no really insurmountable barrier except
your own inherent weakness of purpose.
The odds are with you if you keep on trying.

Consider yourself on a very long journey.
Sustain your personal vision of success until you achieve it.
In the end, you can fail only if you don't try.

Success is a road that's paved with perseverance.

(From Kaplan notes and FA)

Here they come.......

1. Inguinal canal contents. Female: Round ligament + ilioinguinal nerve. Male:Spermatic cord + ilioinguinal nerve. Spermatic cord includes: spermatic fascia, testicular artery, pampiniform venous plexus, vas (ductus) deferens.

2. Groin hernias. The most common type in men and women. Direct: emerges through posterior wall of inguinal canal, medial to the inferior epigastric vessels. Indirect: though the deep ring, lateral to the epigastrics, courses through the ing.canal. (persistent process vaginalis: congenital indirect ing. hern.)

3. Mesonephric duct persist in the male as: the ductus epididymis, ductus deferens and ejaculatory duct.

4. Male urethra: prostatic, membranous and proximal penile urethra develop from the urogenital sinus below the urinary bladder. distal spongy from ectodermal cells of the glans.

5. Female urethra: Upper 2/3 from the mesonephric duct. Lower 1/3 from urogenital sinus.

6. Ligaments of the uterus: Suspensory lig. of ovaries (ovarian vessels). Transverse cervical or cardinal ligament (uterine vessels). Broad ligament (round ligament (no important) + uterine tubules and vessels).

7. Theca cell through desmolase ( + LH) uses cholesterol to produce androstenedione which diffuses to granulosa cells to be converted to estrogen by aromatase (+ FSH).
........................

Please correct me if I'm wrong

good job Karime! Love those points! Refreshes my memory too!

Last point could be worded as Theca cell through desmolase ( + LH) uses cholesterol to produce androstenedione which diffuses to granulosa cells to be converted to estrogen by aromatase (+ FSH).
