Would like to suggest that whoever writes the question include the answer as a hidden line ( Writing it in a white font, then shadowing it with the mouse cursor ) this way we can all be sure of the right answer.

Thank you so much for your efforts guys,

Kind regards,

I disagree, if the answer would be right there behind the question, less people would join for the discussion. Don't you think ? Speaking for myself, I enjoy discussing the questions here in the forum, there can be a lot learned from it.

Thats a good point u are making, but how then will we know for sure if we answered correctly ?

i suggest that the answer would be sent in a private message only for the people who participated in the thread ....

This is fair , what do u think ?

Can you imagine to send 'pm' to all who participate ? And what if I forget? Later on digging out the answer and attaching it again & again.

Icarus, my time is precious as is yours for you too. No, I can not do that. The old way is the easiest way.

lol you are right, but at least we should post the answer (along with the explanation) so that we can be sure that we are on the right track ( just like you did - thank you so much - in this thread )

My warmest regards to you

LOL spinal shock, we have a verse in arabic in which the poet addresses his comrades to make a bridge out of their bodies, so the generations after them would cross ... This is what i call collective subconcious lol

Kind regards,

sorry but the answer says the aortic arches have very little effect as a peripheral sensor of po2????

is this true?

cause i say the ventilation will be increased under the effect of aortic arches

yes the carotid r the main sensors of oxygen but still the patient has the aortic arches

good q ,,

Question :

do the central chemoreceptor control the ventilation in this situation and do the explanation of this Q take it into consideration?

it says that Co2 was cut in 1/2, but the peripheral receptors only respond to drop in O2 .. are we supposed to assume that since this person in high altitude the partial pressure is dec. so both 02 and Co2 are both dec ? This is a terrible questions but i guess thats what makes it good for step 1

so whats the answer guys ??

i guess it will be C ? since he cant really adapt/hyperventilate.
