Hi..guys..finally I am done with my test... it still was old software... overall exam is doable..please don't be scared..even though I feel little depressed after my exam(by remembering mistakes....). My golden advice to everyone taking this test: PLEASE PLEASE sleep well before the exam....I could sleep only 5 hours(wanted to sleep 7 hours atleast) because of anxiety about the exam... Actual Exam:large questions per block= 7-8 managing time-for me it was OK and I never went back to marked ones(because I thought If I couldn't get it right first time then...won't make any difference by going back and panicking then)..so I got steady speed and finished all blocks with 1 minute remaining. 1st block was hard for me...(marked about 14-15 questions:confused 2,3 and 4th block were pretty good and I was actually gaining confidence after those... 5th block was hard again and 6&7 block were average...8th block I did almost without concentration because my eyes were so heavy..I could barely keep my eyelids open=Step-2 Myasthenia maybe ... Internal Medicine-1.cardio and respiratory physiology heavily tested... 2.GIT and Rheumatology-no vague syndromes...just principles. 3.Infections are IMP too... 4.around 55% were from IM Pedia-1. cardiovascular and Pulmonology high yield 2.didn't have any milestones(surprised) 3.child psychiatry(like autism,Asperger, tourette, tuberous sclerosis etc..) 4.about 10-12% questions of all OB/GYN- Almost everything from kaplan lecture notes...do it well Psychiatry-very high yield -about 3 questions in each block(total 25-30....thats a lot) Not much of surgery...just acute trauma setting types of questions.... Suggestion to everyone- do UW well....do it over and over again and memorize the concepts...very helpful getting clues I had 1-2 questions right from it.... -couple of EKGs(easy) -2 heart sounds(audio/video)...mised one because ran out of time and just guessed quickly Prep time-3-4 months 5-6 hours a day and last month 7-9 hours/day Material- Kaplan Lecture notes..2004 version I think, UW q-bank,kaplan q-book 75% done(got around 67-69%)...did NBME questions from the forum and offline scattered-around 35 out of 46 UW Q-bank-first time, unused, all, timed mode-cumulative score-63% -second time marked ones(marked about 1/3rd of all questions)-70% -by the time I have finished it-it was 75%....maybe because lot of questions were repeated... I don;t know how i did..but praying for good results because I have my step-1 passing score... good luck to you guys and keep faith in God! questions are welcome...
