Hey everyone, Just wanted to fill everyone in a little bit about my Atlanta CS experience. I did my exam yesterday Aug 5th. I stayed at the Best Western which is about a 10 min walk from the testing center. I didnt walk there because the hotel will pretty much drive you anywhere you want. After the exam, the shuttle came to pick us up and I asked the driver if there was somewhere I could get beer and he said yeah, and its down the road, and then offered to drive me. I thought that was nice of him. Anyways, my exam was at 3pm. I was very nervous about the entire process. Felt better once i got there and found out that almost everyone else feels the same way. After about 30 min of the proctors talking to us, the exam started. As far as nerves, the first case is the worst, after that everything got easier and i calmed down A LOT. The proctors at the atlanta center were super nice and helpful. All you need is first Aid and practice practice practice. I studied on my own but practice what i was going to say to the patient. At home, i would knock on the door, then walk into my bedroom and then act as if i was talking to a patient. Use lots of transition statements, and ask the SPs for permission to touch them, try to let them know what you are doing, before you do it. The 15 min flies by like you would believe. ALWAYS, leave time for closure, and always ask the SPs if they have any questions. I finished all my encounters on time but then after the exam was over i started to remember so many questions i forget to ask, or PE manevers to do and even DDx and workup stuff to mention. After the exam, everyone feels like this so i guess its normal. Just do your best and be nice to the SPs. I will let everyone know when i get my score. Should be out in October. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me at toddbattung102@hotmail.com
