I passed. I could not believe my eyes. I have made so many mistakes. Three big mistakes:
1. I did not say "Do you have any questions" for first 11 pts. Can you believe that? But it is true.
2. I did not realize this until I finished my 11th pt. I was so depressed. Dramatically, my last pt was a depression pt. I was so distracted that I did not show any empathy during the encounter.
3. This is mistake that I was so shamed to even talk about. There was one shortness of breath pt. Everything was OK during the encounter. I even felt that the pt liked me a lot. I did not have this kind of feeling during other encounters. At the end of the encounter, I said "take care" (did not say "do you have any other questions?"), and left. I was almost at the door, suddently I heard the pt ask me "Dr. do you think I need to stay in hostpital tonight?". I just responded spontaneously "yes". did not even stop and turn my head to the pt, and left. I felt so embarrased and, actually, shamed to even think about this mistake.
When I received my score report, I could not believe my eyes that I passed the test.

congrats......i am still scared to check my result...i have received teh mail saying my score report is available but cant summon the nerve to open it

yey...finally i called my gf to check it for me and I PASSED (checked it again myself). I dont think i have ever felt so releived, wil be expecting my cert in 2 weeks yeah....
all that said. i made so many errors. i mean i went thru the motions, washed hands and all but missed alot of things. didnt check ear in hearing impaired, dint check throat in sore throat, didnt show empathy in an obvious case and completely missed the diagnosis(as well as work up obviously) in one. Stuttered on a challenging question, and forgot to write some test i did on the patient note.
So as an encouragement to all, i was sure i wud fail cos of all these but i passed. so make sure you do the routine stuff(knock, shake hand, drape, wash hand, close) and trust your brain for the medical part of the exam. goodluck all.
