Is there anyway to know the certification early? I mean whether I can know it early by OASIS?
I plan to take step 3 on Aug 21-22. Now it seems like impossible. But I still want to take it asap. because i want to include it in my application.
I can't focus on preparing the application material now because I am worrying about step 3 and all I want to do is study. That is the reason I want to get over it asap.

hi i m in the same boat i wanted to know how can i apply? When does ECFMG send the certificate? and does it send the certificate online or through snail mail? can we find out our ECFMG no. before the certificate is sent?

they will send u via courier servise.i received my certificate in 2 day in usa but it was in may.................i cannot understand last qs

Hi innocent devil
I want to know if i can apply for step 3 now!
I have fulfilled all requirements for the certification including steps and sending the documents to ECFMG, but they haven't updated it on OASIS or sent any mail. I called them and they said it may take up to 10 working days to update receipt of verified documents from med school and then 6-8 wees for certification.

i got my ck result on 9th march and ecfmg certificate was sent on my adress on 12th march..thts was in my case.....

I think they just tell the maximum time when asked on phone. And i hope its much lesser than that!
in your case it maybe faster as March wouldn't be a busy time for them. But still, I think more than 2-3 weeks is outrageous.
Until now(8 working days over) they havent even updated if they have got the documents from med school. I tracked with DHL and of course they have reached!

The only information you need to have is the date the ECFMG was issued. If you have that information in OASIS, go ahead and apply for step 3. You don't need to have the actual paper with you.

Hi sherryyx and rudolph, I have the same situation like u both. My credentials were verified by my med school and recieved by ecfmg on july 15th.And when i called them they said it will take 6-8weeks for them to issue the certificate. I haven't got my certi till now, its been almost 4weeks. I am also studying for step3 and want to take it by august 20-25. Hope they issue the certi soon.

i called them today again. they still say that it takes upto 6-8 weeks for the certification process. my documents reached on july 31st so its your turn first i guess.
i thought they just tell the max time, but for my friend it actually took full 6 weeks. i have been studying with some ups and downs but guess its time to sit back and relax until ECFMG does its job.
