Hey Guys,
I am new here and decided that since I am going to be taking Step 1 for the 4th time its time I do something different and that is why I am on here hoping to get help and help others along the way. I have taken Step 1 three times and on my last exam i got 184/74, I know its so close, but its still not enough to pass. I was upset. I was depressed about it, but realized that by me being depressed it wasn't going to solve any of my problems, so now here i am hoping to encourage others who are in the same position that I am in.
The tools that I used while studying for step 1 the 3rd time around was rapid review, FA, golijan audio, usmleworld questions (average around 65-68), NBME (average 65) and the Usmle cd (average 75). I understand that I know the material and i am positive that my anxiety is coming in between me passing the exam. If you guys have any suggestions as to what i could do to overcome this, pls let me know. Thanks!

i am sorry to hear that hope, your uw score was preety high. my problem is i never get enough. if anxiety is the only reason, i would suggest you to take some help, see doctor, or if you need therapy. Because i think, dr steven daughtery also said that. GL.

The previous entry is right, you have the foundation to get a better score, a passing score, even an exceptional score. Think about it, you were a few questions from success, raise the bar for yourself a little higher, and you will be there. Stop, compose yourself, and think of another joyful success you have had. Put yourself in the moment when you acheived it. Was it worth the effort, were you glad you stuck with it. I sat many repeat exams in (IMG) medical school (over 15) before I graduated, was I happy when I finally passed my final exam - hell yes, I was in tears, because then I knew, I had earned my opportunity to step into the hospital and kick ass, like I knew that I could, I I did in that country. You are no different. I now face the USMLEs and have struggled to step up to the plate for the Step 1, but you... you haven't shyed away...you will pass this exam. No doubt about it, as will I. Keep your head up!

Can we please just stick to one thread? for example the thread with 3 attempts.

three, four, five...etc attempts are the same...If we just read one thread with more than two attempts is enough. Thanks
