Hi! I don't think there's an official observership curriculum..actually, there's not even an official observership program...this is more of an arrangement between you and the physician who accepts you. the duration can be from 1 month( I haven't heard about shorter) to whatever( usually not more than 2 or 3 months). A typical day: You join the hospital rounds, the clinics probably and the lectures. You can take part in the discussion of patient cases but you are not (officially) supposed to touch patients...but pretty often things are not that strict and you may talk to patients and even perform some physical exam. You are considered to ''shadow'' a resident or attending physician. Sometimes you may be asked to prepare a subject and talk about that to your team. In general, do not freak out with the observerships...try to be nice, do not be afraid to talk and ask questions! Even if you are not an expert on the field you're doing your observership you can leave a good impression by asking good questions and showing interest for the cases and enthusiasm for your job..I am sure that this is not something you have to try in order to express...it comes from inside and it is what urged you to become a doctor, right? So, go ahead..and Enjoy! Good Luck!
