A patient approaches you as you are leaving the hospital and shows you a Urnialysis done as outpatient...... It showed WBC > 12/HPF otherwise no bacteruria was evident and basically the Urinalysis was normal...... The patient tells you ..." Hey doc......what do i do now...?" WBCs in my urine ...is that normal Doc....? what can cause that? Well let us see you answer the poor patient...... And then we'll build up scenarios (keywords for each cause of this)

Welll......yeah.... i am saying what wld u tell the patient as in what is the DDx........ Interstitial nephritis causes this picture.....correct but usually it isn't an outpatient diagnosis.... i mean the patient is usually sick and his urine carries a bit more abnormalities then just raised WBC count..... There is a wide range of DDx for it...... Give it another try........

Well thanx to both of u....both are virtually correct but i wasn't asking for a diagnosis i was basically asking for the Differential diagnosis of Sterile pyuria in an awkward way inorder to keep in mind that it cld come on the test as a Urinalysis reading.... So what is the differnetial of Sterile Pyuria
