if someone graduated in 1998, did her fellowship in 2004 and then worked until 2006 what would be her graduation cut-off date? does work experience count towards cut-off or the strictly look at last academic attendance as the cut-off date? Thanks.

graduation cut-off date? i really don't know what your point is.. but your date of graduation remains the same.. 1998.. cut-off dates are stipulated by the programs.. 3, 5, 7, 10 years after graduation from med school... grin

Graduation year would be 1998 with Continous Medical Education.

Actually it was a stupid question. I should have not asked the cut-off date per se. I read few people were saying that PDs consider the cut-off date > 5 years in many programs as one of the strict criterion to not select candidates for interviews etc. What I meant to know was that if someone did her fellowship and then worked as a doctor in her native country, would that generally still be considered as "> 5 years out-of-touch"? But I think it probably doesn't. Thanks.

Hi azm882! I called several programs about this.. some are really strict with the cut-off dates especially in north carolina programs.. some do consider continuing medical education/ residency training/ usce a factor to patch the differencewink Good Luck!
