1- give ck in august with 15 days preparation- and try to get ecfmg certified
2-give ck with proper preparation- and risk not getting matched because of no ecfmg certificate

My opinion: prepare well for CK and give it as soon as feel u are ready. Once you get a low score not much you can do about it; so always better to try and get the best possible score.

will giving my exam before 30th august make much difference to getting matched?

No one can tell your chances of matching however high scores can get you interviews, in the other side don't get desperate about becoming ECFMG certified, there are a bunch of Programs that don't require ECFMG certication at the time of application but be careful about blowing out a good score in ck for the Match rush. Assess the level of your studies with NBMEs and make a decision based on facts.

Good luck!

I am in a very similar situation: I'm planning on giving my CK at the end of September, so that I have a solid 2 months of full time prep (i was busy doing externships the last 2 months and could only prepare part time then)

So I won't be applying with ecfmg certification....in a matter of fact I think the earliest I will get certified will be at the end of october: but remember interview season is mainly nov, dec, and jan....so that should (hopefully) be enough time to get some interviews.....

I agree with the others in that one should not risk a bad performance on CK......
