A patient presents to you and shows Echolalia (repetition of words spoken by someone else) and Echopraxia (repitition of movements made by someone else)....

What is your Diagnosis?

  #2

Ganser syndrome :?

  #3

Ganser is correct but the real answer to the question is you can't tell based on that......ex:

1....Scizophrenia: catatonic variety may present with the symptoms
2....Depression: with catatonic features
3....Ganser syndrome
The whole point in my question is you usually and very often do not have a single symptom that can tell u the diagnosis......criteria is mandatory

for example.....Thought withdrawl and thought broadcasting which were thought to be totally schizophrenic symptoms
they can also occur in mania
mood incongruent delusions can be seen in schizophrenia.......
What is Ganser?
A factitious or a dissocitaive disorder? Tell us more about it.....

  #4

gasner is factitious, it was discovered in prison population

  #5

I thought it was dissociative......
