i started studying patho from goljan RR 2nd edition and i've finished about 200 pages so far.. the book is well written almost everything is clear. good pictures and everything... but the problem is.. there is TOO MUCH info in it!! too much!! its my first read and i read abt 200 pages but i cant remember anything.. for instance, heart disorders, i only know that i read about CHF, MI, MS, MR...etc. but i cant recall any information. i even cant answer a basic simple question the way i study is i just read.. thats it.. i dont memorize anything, sometimes i even skip the tables. i thought its gonna be like other books.. i just read and understand and when i finish i can remember some stuff so next time when i read the book it wud be easier and faster but its claerly NOT like the other books! but with goljan its different :S if i go back to the earlier chapters its like im reading them for the first time :s so i kindda started to freak out i tried listening to goljan audios but the thing is he mentions alotta stuff from other books that i havent covered and i get confused and then sleepy ;p and every sentece he mentions he says its high yeild most of which i dont understand:S then i tried to read each paragraph more than once or try to recall stuff but that just takes too long!! so i was wondering how you guys study goljan? and do u have the same problem i have?

thats exactly i was talkin about.. its really difficult to retain all that info and its indead too much written but im sure its worth memorizing all.. but problem is the same, how and in how much time??? cause when i try to read and retain i hardly study 15 to 20 pages in 5 to 6 hours and if i just read and keep movin i read around 40 pages but then i dun retain anything and could not answer the questionz.. this thing then give heart attack and depression attack when i answer simple questions incorrectly need help and advice how to handle this.

How much time do you have? And a lot of us get the wrong answer at first, it does take time to understand what they are asking, sometimes you need to learn how to read the questions too.

Hi, I am doing the same thing now, read rr and listening to audio. So far it is okay for me. Do not like to read and can not read at this moment, then go to audio. Audio makes some concepts pretty clear. However, the problem the RR book not match the audio. Sometime it is difficult to catch. I have plenty time for my plan, will spend more time to finish both. Goljan includes a lot beyond the patho, it will help, I think. I do not know....you change it or not...
