How does insulin suppress ketogenesis?

insulin prevents lypolysis and stimulate lipogenesis. It is through the circulating free fatty acids that the liver makes ketone bodies. Hope it helps

insulin also promotes amino acid entry into skeletal muscle cells so its not used for ketogenesis in the liver.
