Is it rediculous to start Step 1 for a 44 years man? Seek support.

your name says it all, don't you think?

check out the forum, you'll find lots of old grads still in the game and working for their dream.

it might be tough, but you'll never know till you give it a shot.

NO! Better to try to do it, then give up at the beginning!!!
You deffinitely are doctor and you want to work as a doctor here! All the other jobs that we can do here without USMLE are lousy ones, something to survive, pay bills...you never use your brain to your fullest potential, and then you can see by yourself people who are maybe not that good, but they did it, they took USMLE, passed it and they are doctors here...
We all can do it! It is never to late! Better NOW than NEVER!

I have things lined up for residency and practice so I have to just go forward.nod

Should we target 99, otherwise we do not have much chance to match?

  #9

You should always target 99; that will increase your chances (and probably the msot important factor) but a program will see your overall application and what you can bring to them.

Thanks all. The thing is that I am that kind of person, almost never fail, always pass tests by 70-90 in the whole life, but never get the highest score such as 99. I am wondering if I still pass but get a flat score. It will be horrible for the last big test in my life. I do not scare tests, but hate tests. However, to this point it looks like that I have to try this time, also it is the last opportunity to challenge myself. I start to listen to Goljan Audio, I have not been studying for some years, try to pick me up, hope I can go through the whole journey...... maybe it is the true life....toward 99, make myself exalted, disappointed, excited......

Graduate of 1994, check my posts and read my signature, I guess you'll be inspired. Don't give up before you try. If you really want to do it, trust me you CAN do it!
