Cloning of new eukaryotic gene was followed by insertion and ligation of the gene in an expression vector. The protein translated from this gene was then studied on a western blot and probed with 32PDNA yielding a positive result. These findings eliminate which of the following substances as a candidate for the likely gene product? A) CREB B) Protein Kinase A C) RNA polymerase D) SP - 1 D) Steroid receptor

'probed with 32PDNA' --> should be an DNA binding protein. Protein kinase A stays in the cytoplasm and catalyze other enzymes.

thanx step12005, so i guess the probe only bings DNA binding proteins and protein kinase A is not one of them???

rida ithink u r right. protein kinase could be a recombinent protein and idetify by 125I -antibody
