Hi
My step 2 score i s 88/215.My step 1 score is 91/220 ,have a month of USCE in a clinic affiliated to a Hospital. Do you think I have a chance. Pls give me some idea.Anything i can do to better my CV? Thank you very much.

Nobody here is qualified to advise you about your "chance" ......honestly everybody's application is unique and variables like year of graduation, personal statement, citizenship, lors, and of course scores end up being weighted, but there is no magical guarantee for anyone to bag a residency.....Of course you have a chance....passing the steps in itself gives you that.....Just try your best

Thats just my 2 cents...

I know that what I say will not apply to all programs, but here is example of how "chances" are created.

I have a friend who is a PD of one of the programs. And we told me in details the ranking process in his program. According to him, scores do not play a major role, and a difference between 210 and 230 will be 4 points according to his system. Good LORs from US MDs will give 5-10 more points, but:

EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE DURING INTERVIEW WILL BOOST YOUR OVERALL RANKING SCORE BY 15-17. Fluency in English for IMG is critical. That means that you may have good scores and good LORs but if you did not show yourself up during interview, they may not even rank you. And he said they offered pre-match to a person who would otherwise be ranked in 19 position but who preformed the strongest on the interview.

Scores help get interview, as the rest - to get matched.

Thank you for saying what I have been saying for the last couple of years. It's the personal performance during your interview that is going to say the best about yourself. Especially "you may have good scores and good LORs but if you did not show yourself up during interview, they may not even rank you"
