Hi guys, first time poster and long time reader of this forum. I recently took Step 1 and got my results of 229/95 which was lower than I was hoping but I am very happy considering the ridiculous difficulty of the exam I took. I felt as tho only ~10% of my exam answers could be found in First Aid. It was rough. Anyways I am looking to go into IM and hopefully go on into a GI fellowship. I feel as tho my score might severely limit me now into doing this? Any Advice??????? For the record here are my resources for Step 1: I am a decent student in the top 10% of my class studied for 4.5 weeks FA 2007: read through slowly 6 x and memorized EVERY single word Goljan audio: 5+ times Golgan RR path: 2 x through HY neuroanatomy : only skimmed this 2x ( didn't help on the exam as I didn't get much neuro) Uworld : ended with 64% but my last 10 blocks of 48 were all >70% Free 150: took this 4 weeks out and got 82% I appreciate any feedback

I have no words? This is a very good score and if you are a US student then no problem, IMG or FMG? maybe a little problem but GI is a fellowship after IM and IM is not too hard to get.

I am a U.S. DO student so that might be a strike against me. I just need a little realistic advice for matching to a decent IM residency.

Recently a senior of mine IMG, non-citizen, got into IM with 97 and 92...hes doing his internship in US right now at Baylor's affiliate hospital, will be at BCM next year. He had six indexed publics though. I had a chat with a consultant of a top notch uni , yesterday who interviews us: told me that 'we consider everything and anything above 90 as good' .......99 is awesome, he agrees! One more thing: if u are not bothering the hospital with citizenship issues and J1 thing, that most of IMGs do...... you are favorable. (((One more reason for me to get a 99 , most of us need visas and stuff......u r going good pal) Get an exalting one in step2, and try to make yourself a cool package for them with an eye-opening CV.......and u r where u put ur finger on! Cheerz.
