Rise to the challenge

If everything was free and required no effort, nothing would
have any value. If there were no challenges in life, there
would be no place in which to create achievement.

The very factors that push against you provide a fertile
ground from which you can raise yourself up. From your most
burdensome limitations can come your greatest triumphs.

Can you identify what's holding you back? Then you've also
determined exactly what must be done to take the next step
forward.

When the side of the mountain is steep and treacherous, the
view from the top is spectacular. By steadily working
through the difficulties and challenges, you can reach the
summit of increased strength and value.

It is by working toward a goal that you make the goal worth
reaching. The difficulties you encounter along the way serve
as opportunities to add value to the achievement.

Life is worth living precisely because it requires effort
and challenges you to be your best. Rise to the challenge
each day and add your own special gifts to life's treasure.

- Ralph Marston

Hello CK Fighters

Hi CK Gang
After many weeks of huge changes in my life and having to re-plan my next steps and put up a new strategy and approach about my preparation, here I am stubborn and not willing to give up on my dreams, on my MD Dream because no matter what it takes I will get it

From page 7 I will start the next and last part of my CK Journal, hopefully telling a happy ending; as always, thanks for your unconditional support, here we go Gang...

I am about to start my study day, I am not working anymore so this will be from now on my exclusive job which will pay off later

I will start with Internal Medicine, for today I plan to do GI, let's see how far I go, Notes and videos are my tools.

I also plan to do some Pregnancy Yoga later on, definitely I need to oxygenate myself everyday so workouts will be my way out at the end of the day, beside I am already in my 3rd trimester and I will need to get ready for the Labor Oh my Gosh!

Well, I better get started, I know there will be days that I will have to cut short on my hours of study because of Doc's appointment or Hubby's parties but anyway even those days I want to get at least 5h of study, except for sundays, that day is reserved for Church, house chores and Family exclusively, beside I get to refresh and recharge myself to start a new week.

I gotta go now. See you around Gang

Hi Gang

It's been almost a week and I feel really embarrased because I let personal stuff to come in the way of my studies, having guests at home kind of inhibits me from achieving my daily goals, since I am a very good host; well... as my dad used to say "nobody loses since 'excuses' were invented" and yes I apply that saying to myself; nothing should come in the way not even my pregnancy, by the way I am having a girl ... but I know even carrying this big belly I can do this, and I need to prove it to myself.

Well, let's get moving... I was adviced by my friend Ivonne to try to solve questions asap after my daily readings, she recommends Kaplan Qbank first and then at the end to go for UW, well I might use kaplan for 2 months (2nd and 3rd month) but this first starting month I am using Score 95 which is nice and subject wise, I started this morning solving only 20qs and got 70% it was kind of easy though, but it's ok to warm up I chose G.I. questions since this is supposed to be the 1st Chapter to read... shame one me! I should have been done with this already but I am not, and this is an Honest Journal and If I need to confess my mistakes and get my ass kicked by you guys, please do so I gotta be real and consistent.

They say "The hardest part is to start", and they also say, "If you get to do things right for 21 days, You got a new Habit formed" , ok so now I need 20 more days
Wish me good luck guys

Grazie.

hey grazie good to see you back!!

i was also like this in my first read....not consistent at all.....i took kaplan qbank which i had for 2 months....
and wat i ended up in ....less than 40%of my theory and did 70%of my qbank in last 15 days...
n wat was i doing in earlier 1 and half month.....i dnt know where the hell it went by....dint do questions or theory

but now when i studied kaplan qbank....i did in tutor mode and wrote all explanations...
this gave me an idea of wat to stress on.....so tht was a helping tool for me....

so from today onwards i started reading my notes and i find them interesting n easy to do....
earlier i found them boring n wasted 1 n half month in it

so its good if u do questions
u do learn frm them

good luck dear!!
hey in btw i love baby girls coz they can hav all sorts of beautiful dreses and making different hairstyleswinkwink
so cheers to you!!

Hi Grazie,

First of all congratulations! Wow girls are fun. Enjoy your pregnancy but at the same time get done with you rexams because as time passes and with kids, your priorities will change and you will not find time to do the exams. This advise comes from experience and once you are done with your tests, you will have all the time in the world to enjoy with your kids and family. Good Luck, I've been through it and am struggling now with CK, so i know.
Study well my dear, Take care.

Hey Guys

Angel Doc, thanks for sharing your experience, I am so slow that is ridiculous, but now after reading your posts and see how everybody is working their booties off, man I feel like I can do it too so I will pick up my rhythm today, planning to finish GI finally, I love this subject but this is way too many days I was also hoping my baby to be a girl but don't tell my hubby

Ivonne, you are my master Yoda, so I will follow all your advice thanks for the unconditional love and support buddy and Good luck with your step 3 Doc

Drms, I love your Dora cartoon avatar, it makes me smile whenever I see it thanks for your support and I would like to see your journal as well. Keep working hard sweetie

Gladiator Doc, my biggest dream in life is to become an oncologist some day, but I know first I have to do Internal Med here, anyway yes I am not working right now just carrying this big belly around and still suffering the lousy symptoms but other than that I think I can call myself a "full time student" not really doing it so but gosh I feel so motivated now, let's see how the day goes. I am using Kaplan Videos and Notes and doing Score95 for qbank this 1st month, Hang in there Doc, you rock!

Ecfmg09, thanks for the advice, I will sure take it and try to do my best before my little gal go over my world, my mom will be with me for 3 months so I am planning to take my exam by the 1st week of december, gosh! I better pick up my rhythm I really appreciate the advice Doc.

Dr Jiya it is so nice to hear from you, and guess what? probably we are both gonna be pushing at the same time my due date is on Oct 18, I am really freaking out about it, this is gonna be my 1st baby and I am scared to death but "Gotta do what you gotta do" and this is women stuff. Anyway, how is your prep? I am sure it is not easy having little people around, that's why I want to do my best these months, they say step 1 is hard but at this point I am so scared about CK too, but as we beat step 1 we can nail this too.

Ok guys, I have been ridiculously slow so far but I plan to pick up my steps today, still with GI but hopefully not for long. See you around Docs..
