how does the repressor gene work in lysogenized lambda in transduction??

the repressor prevents the transcription of viral structural proteins and viral replication...and allows the phage DNA to integrate and enter a state of lysogeny...otherwise, the temperate phage will enter its lytic cycle.

continued...when the repressor is damaged the prophage is induced to actively replicate which begins with excision of the viral DNA....error in excision gives rise to specialized transducing phage because only the bacterial genes on both ends of the viral DNA can be included in transduction with another bacteria. hope this helps.
