hi guys - this is my 2nd time failing the step 1 exam...i am in disbelief still because i thought i had done so well ...for sure at least passed....but got opposite results. I don't know where to start now or what to do...how to pick myself back up from such a fall. The more I pray and dedicate myself to intense studying the more I feel like this exam just keeps moving farther and farther away from me. Any advice would be kindly appreciated.

First, do not attempt to schedule your examination right away, failing another time will only worsen your chance in the match.

Second, on what basis did you judge that you are ready for the exam, NBME done online just before taking the exam, or gut feel. Anyway, it turned out not to be reliable.

Third, if you have not read my posts here and in my blog, read them and tell me how you prepared for the examination, and what you did differently from what I've laid out. Maybe we can find what you did wrong and how to correct it for next time.

Fourth, the exam is very doable if done right, so we've just got to get you to do the prep right. How you studied is just as important as what you've studied.
